Maumee River Walleye Run Fishing
Fishing for Walleye in the Maumee River differs from most anywhere. In North America Walleye are mostly considered to be a nocturnal feeding fish and are most easily caught at night and in pre-dawn hours. This is not the case in the Maumee River. The Maumee River Run offers the best daytime Walleye fishery in the world and the style of cast drifting is a very active and exciting way of fishing.
Walleye are olive and gold in color, have very sharp teeth and can grown to be about 30" long and weigh +15 pounds. Their main reason for being in the Maumee River is to spawn however they are active feeders while doing so.
The Maumee River Walleye Run offers a true one of a kind fishing adventure that is on many anglers bucket list. It has been said that there are more Walleye per cubic foot of water in the Maumee River during the Spring Walleye Run than in any other place in the world. Liberal limits and the high volume of happy anglers is a testament to that.
Captain Zack grew up on the banks of the Maumee River and has been chasing Walleye, Smallmouth Bass and Catfish in her muddy waters since he was knee high. This life long passion has allowed him to gain knowledge of the river that only few can match.
